Volunteer Opportunities

Our staff is comprised of passionate individuals, from various backgrounds. Staff members are trained advocates and are dedicated to ending domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking in our community. Together we work on various specialized programs and projects. To speak to an advocate call 507-452-4440, or text and video chat HERE. Office hours are M-F 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

Volunteer advocates are essential to the safety and support of our clients. These on-call volunteers provide 24 hour crisis services via cell phones. Advocates must participate in 40 hours of specialized sexual assault and domestic violence training. Trainings happen virtually throughout the state.

Special Projects, Events, Committees, and Fundraisers

We put on a number of fundraising and awareness events each year to involve the community in supporting the ACW, to raise needed funds, and to have fun! Two of our longstanding events are the Summer Garden Tour and the Spring Gala have been temporarily put on hold due to the pandemic. We are still creating virtual events and campaigns for Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Volunteers are most welcome to participate in organizing these events and also to serve on various special projects and committees.

Board of Directors

The ACW board consists of 7 – 14 members. If you are interested in serving on our board of directors please complete an application and contact Executive Director, Crystal Hegge.
